FMCC Kit Tuveson Scholarship Award
The Facility Management Consultants Council (FMCC) has established an academic scholarship award for consultants in facilities organisations. This award is named after Kit Tuveson who has contributed immensely to FMCC, IFMA and the FM profession. He has also been a mentor and role model for “budding” consultants. The intention is to select and award the scholarship annually at World Workplace, subject to the submission of suitable nominations. The FMCC Board of Directors will administer and award these scholarships.
The FMCC is seeking to reward consultants around the world who have exhibited excellence in facilities management consulting endeavours. The responsibilities of FM consultants are constantly changing, and a career requires credentials and effective skills in communication, relationship building, and problem solving. Successful consultants show an ability to provide and maintain effective workplaces, an awareness of workplace trends and technology, and dedication to professional ethics and values.
The Scholarship Award has a value of up to USD $1,500 towards the cost of attaining IFMA credentials, subject to the FMCC budget. The criteria may change to emphasize the goals and expectations of the Council, and the needs presented for credentials enhancement.
Eligibiliy will be recommended by the FMCC STAG Team and then approved by the Board of Directors. Recipients are entitled to only one award.
Application and Selection
Invitations to apply for the scholarship are open to all FMCC members with a nomination by a Council member. The enclosed KTS-Application.docx illustrates four areas of evaluation and the key questions that will be examined by the judging panel. Each nominee may communicate his/her answers and limited supporting documentation in a manner that reflects personal style and professional competence.
Timing dates will be established each year, and continual improvements to the process will be sought. While highly desirable for an awardee to attend the World Workplace ceremony, it is not mandatory. Appropriate publicity will be established by the FMCC.
